We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Product Manager to join our team to support our federal clients. As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology solutions in highly matrixed, complex federal agencies. As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our clients’ new services and solutions by leading the product development process from ideation to launch. You will be responsible for defining product roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, solutions, and services that meet market needs.
Location: On-site/Hybrid/Remote.
This position requires the ability to work on-site at client locations in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area as needed (primarily SW DC). When not required on-site, the candidate may work remotely in the United States.
Responsibilities and Required Skills:
- Product Strategy: Develop and execute product strategies aligned with clients’ goals, market trends, and customer needs by leveraging industry expertise, analysis and critical thinking.
- Roadmap Planning: Create and manage product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organization objectives and prioritizing features and enhancements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, information security, design, marketing, and sales, to drive product development and successful launches.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify opportunities, understand customer needs, and stay informed about industry trends.
- Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Product Design: Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure user-centric design principles are integrated into product development.
- Product Development: Lead the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality products, solutions and services.
- Metrics and Analysis: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze product performance to make data-driven decisions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate product plans, status updates, and results to internal and external stakeholders. Become trusted advisor.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a cross-functional team, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Collaborative Skills in Matrixed Environments: Proven ability to thrive in a highly matrixed multi-organizational structure. Demonstrated experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders, teams, and departments with conflicting priorities. Strong adaptability and interpersonal skills to navigate complex organizational structures and foster collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 12+ years of professional experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, with a track record of successful product launches.
- Strong experience in navigating and becoming a SME in complex multi-systems and ability to provide expert-level business process re-engineering consultation
- Strong understanding of product development processes, market research, and project management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
- Leadership skills to inspire and guide a multidiscipline team.
- Experience facilitating groups with multiple stakeholders and agendas in person, virtually, and hybrid.
- Possess advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a focus on leveraging these tools to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and deliver high-quality outputs.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in HR systems, such as SAP, Avature and Cornerstone on Demand
- Experience with transformation initiatives in large, complex organizations
- Prior Logistics, Shipping, and Parcel industry experience preferred
- Prior government or technology consulting experience
USPS Requirements:
- United States citizen, permanent resident who has lived in United States continuously for the last five years, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. territory
- Recent employment history
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment
- Background Checks: The criminal background check is conducted using United States information resources only (e.g., FBI fingerprint check, state and county checks). A criminal background check involves a 5-year inquiry for any location where the individual has resided, worked or gone to school within the United States or its territories. As a result of this limitation, the criminal background checks of individuals who have not resided in the United States or its territories for the preceding 5-years may not be considered complete. The background check service may be able to process inquiries for U.S. Citizens only, but only if their time spent out of the country was spent as: a trailing spouse or dependent of someone working for the U.S. government (military or civilian), a missionary, a student attending school in a foreign country, a Peace Corps participant, or as an employee of a U.S.-based employer/company. If the background check service is unable to perform a complete background check because of residency outside the United States, such individuals will be ineligible.
